We are looking for volunteers to help us continue our thriving weekly Walking Group at West Smethwick Park.
We are looking for two volunteers to take over the regular running of the group which runs weekly. This is a well established group and has people of all walking paces.
West Smethwick Park
Thursdays, 11am–12 noon
With the option to stay for a social in the café afterwards.
The purpose of this group is to help older people to stay connected within their communities, enjoy fresh air, and spend time with others while keeping their body and minds active.
The volunteer role is all about creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere - encouraging conversation, supporting people to stay active and connected, and signposting where appropriate.
You don't need to be a fitness expert! An interest in older people's health, wellbeing and bringing people together is much more important.
This is an urgent volunteering need and we're hoping to find support as soon as possible.
