Could you be our next Chair of Trustees?
Arts In The Yard is looking for a new volunteer Chair to help us shape our next chapter.
We’re a community arts charity rooted in East Birmingham and Solihull. For over 12 years (5 as a charity) we have worked alongside residents, artists, volunteers and partners to help create neighbourhoods that are vibrant, inclusive and welcoming.
We’re looking for someone who is a leader, who can think strategically and help our Board be the best it can be.
What will you do?
As our Chair, you’ll:
- Lead and support our friendly Board of Trustees
- Work closely with our CEO as a sounding board and critical friend
- Help us think big while keeping good governance at the heart of what we do
- Help shape AITY’s future and long-term sustainability
- Champion our work, our communities and the power of creativity
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need to have a background in the Arts sector!!
We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, thoughtful, curious and committed to communities.
Some previous Board, trustee, Chair or strategic leadership experience would be helpful. Just as important is being willing to learn, listen and develop in the role.
We’ll support you with induction and training, and we expect our new Chair to commit to ongoing development, including joint Chair–CEO development.
Time commitment: Around 4–6 hours per month on average
Location: East Birmingham / hybrid
Role: Voluntary and unpaid; agreed expenses reimbursed
