Detailed description

Our charity provides vocational skills development opportunities to help participants with poor mental health and with learning difficulties get into paid employment, education and training. 

 


 


 

Who we are?

 

Better Pathways has been supporting people with poor mental health and with learning difficulties to participate on our vocational pathways programme for 60 years. We have a dedicated, professional team working alongside our 80+ participants in a safe, supported space, growing their skills, confidence and self-esteem, giving them a sense of purpose and achievement and the chance to engage more fully in their communities.

 

We provide packing, assembly, light engineering and signage services to businesses in the West Midlands. We are a valued supply chain partner supporting upwards of 20 businesses to deliver high quality end products to their customers.

 

Role

 

We are looking for kitchen/canteen volunteers to help with the everyday lunch time duties, i.e., help with serving pre-prepared food, general cleaning and washing up to maintain the kitchen and dining areas.

 

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Maintenance

  • Ensure the kitchen and dining areas are clean and organized 
  • Washing dishes
  • cleaning surfaces and maintaining cleanliness

 

Hygiene Compliance

·        Follow food safety and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe cooking environment

 

Experience

  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not required.

·        Basic food hygiene and safety knowledge would be an advantage but not essential

·        Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen staff and communicate effectively

·        Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
