Volunteer Work & Health Coach – WorkWell Project


Location: 201-206 Alcester Street, Digbeth, Birmingham (in-person)

Time Commitment: Flexible – ideally 2 day per week

Expenses: Travel reimbursed

The WorkWell Project is part of Better Pathways’ mission to support individuals with mental health challenges to gain confidence, improve wellbeing, and move towards employment, education, or training. We support people holistically, helping them take manageable steps toward a better future.


Role Overview:

We’re looking for compassionate, motivating Volunteer Work & Health Coaches to support participants one-to-one with goal setting, confidence building, and overcoming barriers related to work and wellbeing.

This is a rewarding opportunity to help people rebuild their lives and re-engage with their strengths.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one coaching sessions (in person or remotely)
  • Help participants set personal or work-related goals
  • Support with CVs, job searching, interview prep, or signposting
  • Promote wellbeing, confidence, and motivation
  • Keep simple records of progress and liaise with staff


Ideal Volunteer Qualities:

  • A warm, person-centred approach
  • Passion for mental health, employment, or coaching
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Organised and reliable
  • Experience in health, coaching, employability or support roles is helpful, but not essential – full induction provided
