Event Support Volunteers will help us to connect people to nature, meeting and greeting visitors and carrying out surveys at events in Birmingham green spaces.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic volunteers to join our Engagement team at Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in connecting people with nature by meeting and greeting visitors and gathering valuable feedback through surveys. Your insights will help us improve our work and ensure our spaces are welcoming and meaningful for everyone.

This is a great opportunity to build confidence, develop communication skills, and gain experience in public engagement, all while contributing to the protection and appreciation of local wildlife and green spaces.

This role is really important for us to continue providing quality events and experiences and helps us to:

  • Increase capacity to engage with the public
  • Increase positive communications with public
  • Help the Trust build stronger relationships
  • Promote volunteering opportunities
  • Share the work that the Trust is doing
  • Support evaluation and feedback at events

What support and training is available?

  • Introduction to Safeguarding training
  • Support from staff at every event
  • Volunteer handbook with access to policies

How to join us as a volunteer:

You will first need to register with us via our volunteer management system (VMS), and then apply for each opportunity you are interested in. You can find out more on our website (under GET INVOLVED and Volunteer With Us).
