Volunteer Driver

As a Volunteer Driver, you'll be using your own car to provide friendly door-to-door transportation for service users that have outpatient appointments at Moseley Hall Hospital during weekdays.

The service users who you will be driving have no other means of getting to their appointments, therefore this role is profoundly impactful where each journey will support recovery and well-being.

Please note that currently, we're only accepting applications that have had driving experience in a similar role.

The key tasks for this role are:

• Providing a friendly door-to-door service for BCHC service users
• Building relationships with the staff and service within professional boundaries
• Maintaining your vehicle with an up-to-date MOT, insurance, and road tax
• Adhering to DVLA rules
• Adhering to the Trust policies and procedures
• Participating in training relevant to the role

This is a newly developing role therefore may be subject to changes once onboarded. You will be informed prior to these changes being made.

Am I the right person for this?

• Experience of a similar driving role
• Have your own car (with at least 4 doors)
• Full, clean driving licence (no points)
• At least 12 months' experience of driving
• Ability to communicate via email and mobile phone
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
• Ability to show compassion and respect patient confidentiality
• Able to follow instructions
• Willingness to help and work to time targets
• Punctual and reliable
• Enthusiasm for working with people and supporting them to improve their recovery

As this is a newly developed role, there is currently no set shift pattern and we will agree on availability with you.

Moseley Hall Hospital operates 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, so volunteering will take place between those times.
