Role Purpose
To support the effective coordination and management of volunteers, ensuring they receive appropriate communication, guidance and support. The role involves responding to volunteer enquiries, coordinating team activities and helping maintain an organised, positive and inclusive volunteer environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day coordination of volunteers, including schedules, activities, task allocation and team communication.
- Act as a point of contact for volunteer enquiries, providing information, guidance and practical support and escalating more complex matters where appropriate.
- Help ensure volunteers understand their roles, responsibilities, activities and relevant organisational procedures.
- Support communication between volunteers, staff and other teams, ensuring important information and updates are shared effectively.
- Assist with the organisation and coordination of meetings, activities, events and volunteer sessions.
- Support new volunteers by providing information and helping them settle into their roles.
- Maintain appropriate volunteer records and assist with general administrative and coordination tasks.
- Build positive relationships with volunteers and encourage teamwork, participation and feedback.
- Support the smooth running and continuous improvement of volunteer activities and services.
- Work in accordance with organisational policies, including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, health and safety and data protection.
