Fundraiser Admin & Support Volunteer 

Organisation: Carers Trust Solihull
 Hours: Flexible (some evening and weekend work may be required) 

 

Purpose of the Role 

As a Fundraiser Admin & Support Volunteer, you will play a vital role in helping Carers Trust Solihull secure funding to continue and expand its support for young carers aged 5–25. 


You will assist the manager in sourcing, applying for, and tracking restricted and unrestricted funding opportunities, as well as helping with community fundraising activities and events. This role directly supports the sustainability of services that improve the quality of life for young carers across Solihull. 

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Help identify and research funding opportunities that align with Carers Trust Solihull’s aims and programmes. 
  • Support the manager with administrative tasks related to grant applications and fundraising efforts. 
  • Act as a friendly and professional representative for Carers Trust Solihull at community fundraising events. 
  • Keep accurate records of fundraising activities, donations, and funding progress. 
  • Attend fundraising events to support operations and engage with members of the public. 
  • Present pre-prepared materials (e.g., videos, presentations) to funders and partners to raise awareness of our work. 
  • Assist or lead in the writing of small grant applications (and larger ones if confident). 
  • Help collect donated items for young carers (e.g., event tickets, Easter eggs, Christmas selection boxes). 
  • Monitor when key funding streams reopen or replenish, ensuring timely applications. 
  • Work collaboratively with the manager to assess feasibility and resource requirements for each opportunity. 
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks as discussed and agreed with your supervisor. 

 

Preferred Skills and Qualities 

  • Strong marketing and communication skills (written and verbal). 
  • Ability to work creatively within available resources. 
  • Good administrative and organisational skills, with attention to detail. 
  • Experience in writing funding applications (small, medium, or large scale). 
  • Confidence to approach potential funders and partners. 
  • Professional and positive attitude when representing Carers Trust Solihull in the community. 
  • Willingness to travel across the borough to attend events (expenses reimbursed). 
  • Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold confidentiality. 
  • Passionate about helping improve the lives of young carers and their families.

Additional Notes / Special Requirements

  • An enhanced DBS check and reference verification will be required before commencing the role.
