A hands‑on volunteering full or half day session for your group in Highbury Park, one of Birmingham’s most historic and ecologically rich landscapes.

Join Us for a Day of Purpose

We’d love to welcome you and your team to Highbury Park for a day of hands‑on volunteering in one of Birmingham’s most historic and ecologically rich landscapes. Corporate groups make a huge difference here - helping us care for woodlands, gardens, and wildlife habitats while enjoying a rewarding, active day outdoors. The work is suitable for all abilities, and teams always leave feeling more connected, refreshed, and proud of what they’ve achieved. If your organisation is looking for a meaningful way to give back, we’d be delighted to create a fun, purposeful day tailored to your team. We can have anywhere from 5 to 25 volunteers on a dedicated day just for your team.

How Volunteering Benefits Your Team

• Brings people together and strengthens teamwork

• Enjoy a refreshing, energising day outdoors in a beautiful setting

• Gain a sense of achievement from seeing the difference you’ve made

• Builds a lasting relationship with a much‑loved local park

• Supports your organisation’s CSR and ESG goals

What Opportunities Are Available?

We offer volunteering all year round, with half‑day and full‑day sessions to suit your schedule. Because our work changes with the seasons, there’s always something meaningful, hands‑on, and genuinely enjoyable to get stuck into. Below are some of the bigger projects where we’d love extra help - and if none of these are quite right, we can happily shape a session around your team’s interests.

Himalayan Balsam Bashing (May–July) – Our 2026 Focus!

Help us tackle Himalayan balsam, an invasive plant that spreads quickly and pushes out native species. “Balsam bashing” is simple, satisfying, and great for all abilities - just pull the shallow‑rooted plants before they set seed. It’s a brilliant way to spend time outdoors and make a real ecological impact in just a few hours.

Bulb Planting (Autumn)

Nothing lifts the spirits like the first spring bulbs.

Help us plant thousands across the park to create colourful

displays for everyone to enjoy. A small donation is requested

to help us purchase the bulbs - and your team gets the joy of planting a legacy that blooms year after.

Bramble Control (Winter)

It may not be glamorous, but it’s surprisingly satisfying and

incredibly important for wildlife. Bramble is fantastic habitat, but it needs managing to keep the park diverse and thriving. By cutting back selected areas, you help create a rich mosaic of habitats - from nesting spots for long‑tailed tits to fresh growth for harvest mice. We also clear bramble from places where wildflowers could flourish.
