We are looking for an individual who can engage with our residents and encourage them to be involved in activities inside and outside of the village.

The Volunteer Facilitator’s main tasks:

  • To assist the Activity Coordinator in facilitating activities and games e.g. Poetry, Crafts ,Wood working, Bingo (bingo support volunteer),Pub quiz ,Table tennis, Darts in communal areas

  • Encouraging and assisting residents to partake in activities of their choice 
  • Organising and leading activities
  • To assist with refreshments
  • To liaise with residents to identify which activities they are interested in
  • To record information of activities attended by which resident

Key skills needed for this role:

  • Enjoys communicating with and spending time with people, particularly older people 
  • Demonstrates patience and understanding 
  • Trustworthy, honest and reliable with effective time management skills 
  • Works well in a team and one to one

This role does not include the following tasks:

  • Personal care tasks
  • Administering medication                                            
  • Advice or support in relation to a person’s financial affairs
  • No transferring (manual handling) of residents

Training and Development:

  • Accessing training required to carry out the role and to further personal development
  • Accumulating relevant work experience
  • Direction and support
