Festival Marketing & Social Media Coordinator- flexible hours, flexible location, position available for the duration of the festival.

We are looking for a Festival Marketing & Social Media Coordinator

to Help Grow Derby's Palestinian Festival of Culture & Film

Are you passionate about social justice, culture, storytelling, and creating meaningful community engagement? Do you have skills in social media, digital marketing, content creation, or audience building?

We are looking for a volunteer or small group of volunteers for the role of Festival Marketing & Social Media Coordinator to help us promote and grow our annual Palestinian Festival of Culture & Film.

Bit About Us-

We are a solidarity and cultural organisation that aims to celebrate Palestinian culture and increase understanding of the historic and current realities facing Palestine. We aim to raise awareness within our local communities of the history, culture and ongoing injustice suffered by the Palestinian people.

Since launching our festival, we have successfully delivered two inspiring events featuring:

* Film screenings

* Interactive workshops

* Live music and concerts

* Palestinian food and culture

* Discussion panels and talks

* Art exhibitions and creative activities

Our next festival, planned for Spring 2027 (February–May, date TBC), will explore the current situation in Palestine and examine the political, media, historical, and social factors that influence Britain's role and public understanding.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a creative and enthusiastic volunteer to help design and deliver a marketing campaign that will raise awareness of the festival, engage new audiences, and increase ticket sales.

What You'll Be Doing

* Developing a social media marketing strategy for the festival

* Creating engaging content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and X

* Scheduling and managing social media posts

* Promoting festival events and ticket sales

* Helping identify target audiences and outreach opportunities

* Supporting the creation of graphics, videos, and promotional materials

* Monitoring campaign performance and suggesting improvements

* Working alongside festival organisers to ensure consistent messaging

What We're Looking For

You don't need to be a professional marketer, but we'd love to hear from people who have:

* Experience with social media management or digital marketing

* Strong communication and storytelling skills

* Creativity and enthusiasm for audience engagement

* An interest in culture, human rights, community events, or Palestine solidarity work

* The ability to work independently and collaboratively

What You'll Gain

* Practical experience leading a real-world marketing campaign

* The opportunity to build your portfolio and develop new skills

* Experience working with a community cultural festival

* A chance to make a meaningful contribution to public education and cultural awareness

* Flexible volunteering that can fit around work or study commitments

Time Commitment

Flexible. We anticipate a greater level of involvement in the months leading up to the festival, with planning beginning well in advance of the event.

Interested?

We'd love to hear from anyone who is enthusiastic about helping us expand the reach and impact of the Palestinian Festival of Culture & Film.

Join us in bringing Palestinian culture, stories, and voices to wider audiences across Derby and beyond.

Drop me a message through this site with about you and how you think you can help and lets have a chat. Everyone who is involved in this project do it because we care, everyone's a volunteer.

I work full time so it may take me a few days to reply but I will!
