Detailed description

Listening to people’s experiences of local health and social care services, and helping to record this feedback.

Promoting Healthwatch Birmingham within the community and raising awareness of our services.

Community engagement events take place across all 10 districts of the city. Choose from a variety of different venues and locations to help out including:

• Healthcare settings such as Hospitals, GP's.

• Service user support groups, steering groups, meetings etc. accessed via our Third Sector partner organisations.

• Events: Fetes, festivals, and open days etc.

• Public Venues: Community Centres, libraries, warm hubs etc.

Most of our community engagement volunteer roles take place between 9 AM and 3 PM, Monday to Friday.

Our volunteers come from a variety of backgrounds, bringing diverse perspectives to our team. To join us, you must be a Birmingham resident aged 16 or older with a passion for enhancing health and social care. No prior experience is required, as full training and support are provided. What matters most is a commitment to ensuring that people in Birmingham receive the best possible health and social care services and a willingness to contribute to that goal.

About Healthwatch Birmingham

Listening to what you think about local health and social care services
We provide patients and the public with a stronger say about the services they use. We listen to what people like about services, and what could be improved. This could be about general practices, hospitals, dentists, opticians, pharmacists, nursing and residential homes or care received in the community.
