Join our monthly allotment workshops, learn practical growing skills and prepare to support weekly community sessions from March 2027.

In Unity We Rise C.I.C. is looking for friendly and reliable volunteers to join our Community Allotment programme.

From September 2026 to February 2027, volunteers will attend monthly indoor workshops where we will learn and prepare together for the next growing season. No previous gardening experience is required.

Workshops will include allotment planning, composting and healthy soil, what and when to plant, seed sowing and propagation, tools and allotment safety, and preparing for the new growing season.

From March 2027, volunteers will have the opportunity to put their learning into practice by helping with our weekly community allotment sessions for adults, parents/carers, children and families.

Volunteers may help with welcoming participants, setting up activities, planting and growing, supporting participants with gardening activities, watering and maintaining the allotment, refreshments, and setting up and packing away.

This is a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet people, build confidence and help create a welcoming community growing space.

No gardening experience is needed – just a willingness to learn and get involved.
