About the Role

The Events Co-ordinator will play a central role in planning, organising and delivering a varied programme of activities at our new Community Creative Hub. This part-time role (2–3 days per week) is ideal for a highly organised, creative and proactive individual who is passionate about producing high-quality events that bring people together and strengthen community engagement.

Working closely with the leadership team, you will coordinate community, cultural and celebratory events, manage event logistics, build partnerships and help ensure the smooth and professional on-site operations.

 

About Us

Kajans Women’s Enterprise (KWE) is a not-for-profit organisation that has supported communities across Birmingham for over 20 years. We primarily work with people from minority ethnic backgrounds, young people with learning difficulties, and vulnerable women.

We have recently acquired and renovated a new premises, which will launch later this year as the Community Creative Hub. This space will host creative, educational, health, wellbeing and cultural events for the local community. We are now looking for a driven and motivated individual to help shape and deliver an exciting and impactful events programme.

 

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

Essential:

• Proven experience in event planning and coordination

• Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills

• Experience managing event logistics including venues, suppliers, facilitators and volunteers

• Energy, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Knowledge of basic budgeting and event cost management

• A working knowledge of standard IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Desirable:

• Experience delivering community, cultural or educational events

• Experience building and maintaining relationships across sectors (e.g. education, healthcare, and community organisations)

• Confidence using social media and digital platforms to promote events and grow participation

 

 

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Plan, coordinate and deliver a programme of community, cultural and celebratory events

• Manage the day-to-day scheduling and event coordination within the Community Creative Hub

• Oversee event logistics including bookings, equipment, suppliers, facilitators and volunteers

• Liaise with partner organisations to coordinate joint events and activities

• Promote activities and grow engagement through social media, digital communication and marketing

• Monitor attendance, gather feedback and contribute to reporting and evaluation

• Represent KWE and the Community Creative Hub at events, meetings, and forums, where required
