About the Role
The Youth and Community Co-ordinator will play a key role in the day-to-day management and development of our new Community Creative Hub. This part-time role (2–3 days per week) is ideal for an organised, enthusiastic, and community-focused individual who is passionate about delivering meaningful programmes that benefit local residents and wider audiences.
Working closely with the leadership team, you will design and deliver a range of engaging activities, support community partnerships, and help ensure the smooth and effective running of the Hub.
About Us
Kajans Women’s Enterprise (KWE) is a not-for-profit organisation that has supported communities across Birmingham for over 20 years. We primarily work with people from minority ethnic backgrounds, young people with learning difficulties, and vulnerable women.
We have recently acquired and renovated a new premises, which will launch later this year as the Community Creative Hub. This space will host creative, educational, health, and wellbeing programmes for the local community. We are now looking for a driven and motivated individual to help make this exciting new venture a success.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
Essential:
- Proven experience in youth and/or community work
- Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills
- Confidence using social media to build participation and community reach
- Energy, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A working knowledge of standard IT packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Enhanced DBS
Desirable:
- Experience building and maintaining relationships across sectors (e.g. education, healthcare, and community organisations)
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Manage the day-to-day operation and coordination of the Community Creative Hub
- Plan and deliver engaging educational and creative programmes, including activities for young people with autism
- Support the development and delivery of Health & Wellbeing Centre programmes
- Liaise with partner organisations, including Age UK Birmingham and Diabetes UK
- Organise and deliver community events and activities
- Promote activities and grow engagement through social media and digital communication
- Represent KWE and the Community Creative Hub at events, meetings, and forums, where required
