We are seeking hearing volunteers who are fluent in British Sign Language to support our deaf participants.
Detailed description
LouDeemY Productions is actively seeking dedicated Volunteer hearing BSL Signers to support our mission of creating accessible, inclusive theatre and arts programming in Birmingham. Based on comprehensive consultations, there is a definite and identified need in Birmingham for BSL drama groups and theatre shows featuring deaf actors.
Your support is vital to addressing this gap. As a volunteer, you will directly enable us to deliver weekly, life-changing sessions, which typically involve drama workshops, communication skills and self-confidence among vulnerable adults. Our goal is to integrate British Sign Language (BSL) into both the creative process and the final outcome of our projects, leading to mutually beneficial outcomes for all our participants. By joining us, you champion social justice and ensure the stability required for deaf individuals to participate fully and feel a crucial sense of belonging within our inclusive creative community.
