Summary
Marshalling opportunities at our fabulous fundraising event - the inclusive annual Sutton Park Challenge!Detailed description
Who we are
Midland Mencap is a charity which works and campaigns for accessible and inclusive services and a better quality of life for everyone with experience of learning disabilities and additional needs.
Purpose of the role
Our fabulous annual Sutton Park Challenge Run takes place on Sunday 5th October.
We need friendly people for approximately 4 hours to marshal the routes, greet competitors and supporters, help us to set up and run the registration tent and runners village, man the music station or clear away at the end of the event!
A marshal is one of the most important volunteer roles at any event, helping us achieve our fundraising goals, and making the day special, safe, and memorable for all.
We are passionate that it is a highly accessible and inclusive event. Whether someone wants to run, walk, or push someone else in a wheelchair, this is a great way for people to challenge themselves.
This is a small event with a huge heart, and to ensure everyone is included we will be hosting three races – a 10k, a 5k and a 1k.
Competitors are sponsored to run, and all funds raised will support the vital work Midland Mencap does for people with disabilities and their family carers.
