Reading Coach

Read Easy Volunteer Reading Coaches provide Free, confidential, one-to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with reading. An estimated 2.4 million adults in England cannot read or can barely read impacting employability and wellbeing. Read Easy groups are changing the lives of individual adults across the country by providing them with the support they need to learn to read, and in turn opening doors for them to all sorts of new opportunities in life.

Read Easy Birmingham Central are keen to recruit volunteer Reading Coaches to join our team. As a volunteer Reading Coach you will meet with your learner twice a week for just half an hour to work through a structured reading programme at an approved local venue. You will receive resources and training before being paired with an adult who wants to improve their reading. Together you will work through the Turning Pages phonics-based reading programme with the support and guidance of our Coordinators.

Helping an adult with their reading journey is extremely rewarding and can help tackle isolation, improve confidence and contribute to employability. Get in touch to get involved!
