StreetWatch - Help make Birmingham nights safer

Join the Night Time Economy StreetWatch group and help keep our nightlife safe and welcoming! Volunteers work in pairs along set routes, creating a safe corridor for patrons. There are eight teams, each covering a Friday or Saturday on a 4-week rotating basis. You’ll commit to one team and join for shifts from 9:45 pm to around 1:30 am, with breaks and coordination support.

Volunteers provide a reassuring presence, helping deter crime and antisocial behaviour. While you won’t get involved in incidents, you’ll help with directions and guide patrons to the “safe space” for those in need. Free parking is available at the Arcadian, and each volunteer gets a StreetWatch high-vis jacket. Training is easy with short videos you can watch from home, and we ensure all volunteers have good character. It’s a fun and rewarding way to make a real difference!
