Are you passionate about improving access to affordable food? Do you want to create a more equal society? Come and help the Birmingham Food Justice Network!

The Birmingham Food Justice Network is made up of over 250 organisations across Birmingham. All of these are helping people in need to access free and affordable food. They are also simultaneously tackling food waste by redistributing surplus food.

The Birmingham Food Justice Network has a map. This map is a critical resource for people in crisis, and organisations helping them. It allows them to find their nearest affordable and free food provision. However in order for it to work, we need it to be up to date.

As an administration volunteer, you would be contacting food provisions (food banks, food pantries, community kitchens) to ask them when they are open and what services they provide.

This is a great volunteering opportunity for someone who wants to make a difference to people struggling, and build a better food system. As a part of this you will get exposure to the realities of food poverty in the UK and help to challenge it.

You only need a phone and computer to help. This is initially a summer volunteering opportunity, but can possibly be continued.
