Summary
A Hackathon to design an app that will help a local charity to work more efficiently across the region. Opportunity to coach unemployed people through the eventDetailed description
The Cloud Crew CIC supports charities to digitally transform. For this particular event, we will be designing an app to help a local non-profit, We Can CIC.
The charity collects drinks cans, recycles them, and then uses the money to buy food for local food banks. It's an incredible charity that has grown through the good will of the community.
We want to design an app to help the founders to streamline the management and visibility of the collection points, to communicate with the volunteers and ultimately to connect a delivery network to the cause. Increasing the visibility of collection points and tracking their availability is pivotal to the growth of the organisation and the amazing work they do.
They currently raise £500 per month and we would like to help them increase this to £2500 per month. To do this, we need to automate their processes and engagement.
As with all of our projects and Hackathons, we are looking for experienced techies, project managers and product managers to run teams. The teams will include eight unemployed people that have technical skills, but are looking to build work experience onto their CV. Working on Hackathons and projects with the Cloud Crew helps them to build that body of work.
This Hackathon gives you the opportunity to contribute to a local non-profit and to support unemployed people back into work.
Full support will be provided throughout the two days. Your contribution doesn't need to be constant throughout the days, but we ask you to be present for the 9.30am kick-off, 1pm Q&A session, 3pm on the Friday for presentations and available to provide ad hoc guidance throughout the two days.
