Do you like fixing and repairing things? Why not help look after our heritage Cadbury home set in five acres of grounds. repairing, fixing, painting.
About the role
Volunteers will carry out general maintenance tasks and assist with small repairs around the property. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being of the people we support and ensure that the home remains a comfortable and secure place for all. Including:
- General painting and decorating
- Replacing light bulbs
- Maintaining fixtures and fittings
- Completing the relevant regular Maintenance Schedule
- Litter picking on a weekly basis including days where there is an event
- Assist in tidying/sorting storage areas
- Ensuring tools and materials are properly maintained and stored safely.
- Identify potential maintenance issues before they become problems.
- Report more complex repairs or safety concerns to the Operations Manager
Key skills required
- Experience and knowledge are preferred, but not essential.
- Ability to work as part of a team, with other volunteers and staff.
- Reliability and a positive, can-do attitude.
- Volunteers will not be asked to carry out any electrical or plumbing works
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, ensuring all tasks are completed with care and in compliance with regulations
- Volunteers have access to Manual Handling as well as Ladder Safety training.
