Volunteer Administrator needed to support the RSPB West Midlands team. Flexible role (2–4 days/month), home or office based.

The RSPB is seeking a Volunteer Administrator to support the West Midlands Area Team. This flexible role requires a commitment of approximately 2–4 days per month and can be carried out either remotely from home or from the RSPB Birmingham Office during weekday office hours.

The Volunteer Administrator will provide essential administrative support to the West Midlands Senior Administrator and wider team. Responsibilities may include email communication with staff and volunteers, scheduling and organising online and in-person meetings and events, booking venues and refreshments, processing volunteer expenses and financial paperwork, managing and uploading documents on SharePoint, arranging travel and accommodation, supporting volunteer administration, and collating and distributing meeting notes. Tasks can be tailored to the volunteer’s skills, experience, and interests.

The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and confidence using Office 365 applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint is desirable, although training will be provided. Volunteers should be comfortable working independently, communicating effectively, and committing reliably to agreed tasks.

In return, volunteers will receive full training on RSPB systems, ongoing support from a friendly team, and any necessary equipment. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. This role offers an opportunity to develop administrative skills, gain experience within a leading environmental charity, and make a meaningful contribution to nature conservation.
