Summary

Fleet manager is a flexible role for someone to coordinate routine maintenance of our two rapid response vehicles, ensuring they remain operational.

Detailed description

Who are the West Midlands CARE Team:

A pre-hospital critical care charity based out of Bournbrook fire station, responding to critically ill/injured on behalf of West Midlands Ambulance Service since the early 90s.

Why are we looking for more volunteers:

The team has always had clinicians covering non-clinical roles but as the team expands and clinicians' lives get busy with clinical commitments we've realised there is an opportunity to recruit non clinical volunteers to assist with the logistics of the team. We plan to apply for independent CQC status and with that application comes a review of our processes in which we want to take our organisational ability to the next level.

What are the roles:

Fleet manager; this would be someone to coordinate some basic servicing, replacement tyres and such with local suppliers and general ensure both of our response vehicles are operational. No emergency qualifications are needed.

What experience does one need:

None, its' desirable but not essential, we've been filling these roles as clinical volunteers for years, if we can do it, anyone can!

What is the commitment:

It probably averages out to maybe 1-2 hours per week with a lot of weeks requiring no assistance, it can be quite ad hoc.
