Coordinates community services, events and advice, supporting volunteers, staff and residents while ensuring services are organised, accessible and effective.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the delivery of advice, information, and community support services.
- Plan, organise, and oversee community events, workshops, outreach sessions, and wellbeing activities.
- Develop new projects and opportunities that respond to local community needs.
- Coordinate volunteers, staff, and external partners to ensure services are delivered effectively.
- Support the daily operation of the advice centre, ensuring appointments, enquiries, and referrals are managed efficiently.
- Provide a welcoming first point of contact for clients and ensure excellent customer service.
- Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, charities, statutory agencies, and community groups.
- Promote services through social media, newsletters, community networks, and local events.
- Monitor attendance, collect feedback, and produce reports on service outcomes and impact.
- Maintain accurate records while ensuring compliance with GDPR, safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies.
- Assist with funding projects by gathering evidence, statistics, case studies, and impact data.
- Identify opportunities for service improvement and contribute to organisational development.
Skills and Experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Experience coordinating community services, projects, or events.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
- Experience working with volunteers and community partners.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online systems.
- Understanding of advice services, community development, and voluntary sector organisations.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
