We are looking for people with lived experience of disability to become Expert by Experience Mentors and provide support to disabled people.

We are looking for people with lived experience of disability to become Expert by Experience Mentors and provide support to disabled people in achieving their goals and desired outcomes.

As a mentor, you will offer:

  • One-to-one mentoring and guidance.
  • Regular weekly contact and support.
  • Companionship and a trusted person to talk to.
  • Encouragement to build confidence, independence, and wellbeing.
  • Practical advice based on your own lived experience.

The aim of this service is to provide better support for disabled people who may face day-to-day challenges, barriers, and difficulties. By sharing your knowledge and experiences, you can help others navigate issues they encounter in their daily lives and feel less isolated.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people with personal experience of:

  • Autism
  • Learning disabilities
  • Mental health and wellbeing challenges
  • Physical disabilities
  • Long-term health conditions
  • Neurodivergence

We believe that people with lived experience have unique insights and understanding that can make a real difference in supporting others to achieve their goals, improve their wellbeing, and live more independently.

Together, we can create a supportive mentoring service that empowers disabled people through shared experience, understanding, and peer support.
