Detailed description

The role of a Museum Education Volunteer helps bring policing history to life for school groups and visitors. The role involves supporting education sessions, guiding activities, and engaging the public with the museum’s collections. Volunteers inspire learning, promote respect for policing heritage, and support the smooth running of visits and events.

 

Main activities of the role:

  

·      Supporting the Museum Engagement Officer and other staff with museum tours, educational inputs and hands-on activities, as required;

·      A combination of collaborative and independent work, including some opportunities for costumed role play;

·      Proactive with a positive nature, an interest in providing an excellent visitor experience

·      Reliable, well-presented, friendly and polite

·      Comfortable working as part of a team; supporting other volunteers

  ·    Able to work with and without direct supervision
