We are now looking for new Trustees to join our Board and help shape the strategic direction of our work.

As an organisation at an exciting point of growth, we are keen to strengthen our governance and bring in fresh perspectives, skills, and lived experiences. This is an opportunity to contribute to a cause that matters, while developing your own leadership and governance experience in a supportive and values-driven environment.

We are looking for trustees with a broad mix of skills and experience to strengthen our Board. This includes expertise in governance, finance, legal or fundraising, as well as skills in digital, operations, and marketing. We also welcome people with specialist knowledge in areas such as health, energy, cycling or community action, and those passionate about making a positive local impact. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and are particularly keen to hear from those who can help broaden the diversity of our Board.

If you are motivated by purpose and want to use your skills to make a tangible difference locally, we would love to hear from you!

We are particularly interested in individuals who can bring one or more of the following skills and experience:

  • Strong governance and strategic leadership, with the ability to work collaboratively at Board level
  • Marketing and communications expertise to enhance our profile, engagement and impact storytelling
  • Trustee experience, contributing confidently to governance, decision-making and Board development
  • Legal expertise in governance, compliance, risk and contractual matters
  • Digital / IT experience to support systems, service delivery, data and impact monitoring

What difference will you make?

  • As a Trustee of ecobirmingham, you will play a vital role in shaping a greener, fairer, and healthier city. Your contribution will help guide our strategy, strengthen our impact, and ensure communities across Birmingham are supported to take meaningful action on climate and sustainability. Together, we can create lasting local change that improves lives and protects our environment for future generations
  • You’ll work alongside a committed group of people who share a passion for social and environmental justice, contributing to decision-making and helping us remain responsive to the needs of Birmingham’s communities.

We are keen to hear from volunteers interested in becoming a trustee. Alongside your CV, please include a short supporting statement outlining the skills and experience you will bring, and how you will contribute to ecobirmingham’s mission.

We will be running a recruitment drive throughout the summer. The CEO will connect with you informally in the first instance, followed by an interview in mid-September with the Chair and another trustee.
