Summary

We need a DJ to volunteer for a community intergenerational cultural gathering that focuses on empowering young people with etiquette, morals and values.

Detailed description

“It takes a village to raise a child”—a timeless African adage that resonates now more than ever. In a world where values, etiquette, and wisdom are increasingly scarce, The Village Square steps in to fill the gap with something powerful: community.

Hosted under the Tell and Share Project, this uplifting intergenerational event revives the ancient African village model of learning, where Elders pass down life-lessons to the younger generation. With inspiring storytelling, joyful African choreography, and engaging performances, The Village Square is where learning, laughter, and legacy come alive.

This is not your typical cultural event. It's interactive, musical, and moving—with parents, grandparents, and children participating side-by-side in an unforgettable shared experience.

We need a DJ who will keep The Village Square "gingered" in between various segments of the programme with eclectic Afrobeats hits. Are you the DJ we are seeking for?

✨ Event Highlights:

  • High-impact Animated Visuals
  • Inspiring Storytelling
  • Communal African Drumming (for everyone to join in!)
  • Etiquette & Manners Workshop
  • African Choreography and Cultural Dance
  • LIVE Music & Community Singalongs
  • Thought-provoking Poetry
  • Special Performance by the Sing 2 Heal Children’s Choir
  • Powerful “Tell & Share” Moments with Elders and Guest Speakers
  • Youth Q&A Forum – giving the younger generation a voice

Whether you are a veteran DJ or someone who DJ's as a hobby, we cordially invite you to be part of a movement that nurtures values, uplifts families, and strengthens community ties.
