Summary
This unique role is quite rewarding and involves assisting our Coaching Faculty with the delivery of our community-inspired public speaking courses.Detailed description
As part of our "Tell and Share Project", i60 Community Interest Company is seeking individuals who will volunteer as Coaching Assistants. In addition to making priceless lifelong transformation in the lives of the participants, the Coaching Assistants will enjoy the rare privilege of being exposed to learning experiences that can prepare them to become Public Speaking Coaches. Moreover, you will receive Certificates of Recognition, Reference Letters (upon request) and priceless fulfilment of making a difference in the lives of others.
The "Tell and Share Project" is a series of community-focused public speaking courses, confidence-building workshops and presentation skills classes intended to empower individuals to tell their stories and share their experiences. This project is not-for-profit. However, the pedigree of our faculty and structure of our curriculum is of global repute and identical to what we have used in coaching world leaders in the past!
From presenting an assignment in the classroom to going for a job interview and from proposing a toast at a friend's wedding to presenting a business proposal before a panel of investors, public speaking is a skill that each of us will need for a lifetime. Sadly, many people in the community have low self esteem, are lacking in confidence, struggling with stage-fright and sometimes miss out on wonderful opportunities just because of the fear that comes with addressing a group of people. To make things worse, this is a skill which many of us were not taught in school.
The good news is that i60 Community Interest Company is firmly committed to making a difference and we are going to start with children this Summer! "Public Speaking For Children" will run on Saturday afternoons for an hour and we are in need of adults and young people (aged 18 and above) who are willing to volunteer as Coaching Assistants.
As a Coaching Assistant, you will assist the Public Speaking Coach with facilitating the class. This includes:
- Ensuring that the designated training room is ready and set;
- Assisting the Coach with conducting role plays and group exercises; and
- Coordinating the participants as necessary.
- You will be expected to closely observe the Coach, with the hope of possibly conducting segments of the class in the future.
This is an amazing opportunity to grow! Moreover, this role helps you to develop new skills and you will be recognised (Certificate) for making a difference in the lives of others and contributing to society.
Here are some of the rewards and benefits that come with this role:
- Certificate of Recognition
- Reference/Testimonial Letter (upon request)
- Mentoring and Coaching Opportunities which can prepare you to become a Public Speaking Coach
- Opportunity to network and meet new people in the corporate, entrepreneurial and charity sectors
- The fulfilment of making social impact in the community
In addition to Public Speaking For Children, we have Public Speaking For Teens, Public Speaking For Start-up Entrepreneurs, and more public speaking courses, as well as other confidence-building and presentation skills workshops lined up.
