Event Assistants for a Historical Nativity Musical in Birmingham

In the middle of all the warmth and excitement of this season, many of us can sense it — that familiar rhythm of Christmas carols we sing year after year… same tunes, same words, same language. This time, we want try something different!

Welcome to Abí Olùgbàlà — Birmingham’s first-ever Nativity Musical performed in an African language. And guess what? The language is Yorùbá — one of the most musical and influential languages in Africa. You know what makes it even more unique? The entire language is built on the first three notes of the piano: do-re-mi. No wonder the language "sings" so gracefully!

Your participation as an Usher & Event Assistant will really make this musical a success!

Not only will the Nativity be presented in Yorùbá, but we will also enjoy a joyful community sing-along where people of diverse backgrounds, cultures and generations across Birmingham will lift one voice in this beautiful language. What a harmonious experience it shall be.

Admission is absolutely FREE, and this is event is sincerely a community effort.

This history-making event is truly for all ages — a warm intergenerational event where individuals, families and whole communities can take part. Therefore, we really need a volunteer team of diverse age groups!
