Want to build confidence, learn new skills, meet amazing people, and make a real difference — all while having fun?
At Sea Cadets, we help young people aged 12–18 discover confidence, teamwork, leadership, and adventure through exciting activities both on and off the water.
Birmingham Stirling Sea Cadets are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our incredible team as Volunteer Youth Activity Instructors.
What Will You Be Doing?
No two nights are ever the same.
You could be:
- Running fun activities, games, and challenges
- Teaching navigation, first aid, leadership, or teamwork
- Supporting events, trips, and community projects
- Helping young people experience water sports
- Sharing your own skills and hobbies with cadets
- Encouraging confidence, resilience, and friendships
Whether you wear uniform or volunteer in your own clothes, you’ll play a huge part in helping young people thrive.
Your Skills Could Make a Difference
You don’t need previous cadet experience — just enthusiasm.
We welcome people with interests in:
- Sports and coaching
- IT and social media
- Photography and marketing
- First aid and wellbeing
- Catering and cooking
- Outdoor activities and adventure
- Engineering and practical skills
- Driving and logistics
- Meteorology and navigation

Thursdays & Sundays
