Detailed description

Trustee Vacancy

Voluntary role

Meetings every 6 weeks

No closing date

Since 1899, Birmingham Settlement has been working to create opportunity and choice – connecting and empowering people through action, activities, and shared learning to build and sustain wellbeing for all.

Over the past few years, we have been through an exciting period of change and growth including the development of two new sites; our Nature & Wellbeing Centre by Edgbaston Reservoir and our Sports & Community Centre in Kingstanding. As we look to build on that work, we are now looking to grow our Board and appoint new trustees to help us continue to develop and deliver the safe, high-quality services and opportunities our people want and expect.

As an organisation, we welcome people from all backgrounds and are keen for our Board to reflect the diversity of our city. While we are ideally looking for people with an awareness of the charity sector and the issues facing communities of need, most important is the willingness to commit to the values and aims of the Settlement.

Our Board currently meets every 6-weeks and these are voluntary positions. Having said that, being a trustee is a rewarding role, in return for your time and commitment, as a trustee of the Settlement you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the communities and people we work with, to help shape and develop the Settlement’s priorities moving forwards and to work with a friendly, committed and experienced team, plus of course, the opportunity to develop your own skills and experience around community governance and leadership.

Further information about the Settlement can be found on our website.

If you are interested in joining us, we would love to hear from you.
