Join the Board of Citizens Advice Birmingham and help shape the future of one of Birmingham's most respected charities.
Citizens Advice Birmingham is seeking passionate and committed individuals to join our Board of Trustees. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills, experience, and insight to support a charity that makes a real difference to people's lives across Birmingham every day.
We're particularly interested in candidates with expertise in:
✅ Legal & Governance
✅ Digital & Technology
✅ Communications
✅ Research & Campaigning
Previous trustee experience is welcomed but is not essential. We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive Board and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds who share our values and commitment to social justice.
As a Trustee, you will:
• Provide strategic leadership and direction
• Support good governance and decision-making
• Help ensure the charity remains sustainable and effective
• Champion the needs of local communities
Time Commitment
📍 Minimum of 4 in-person Board meetings per year (typically after 5pm)
📍 One Trustee Away Day per year (Saturday)
📍 Annual General Meeting (AGM) once a year, usually in November after 5pm
📍 Quarterly Committee meetings (minimum 1 hour, usually after 5pm)
📍 Mandatory training of at least 3 hours per annum
