We are looking for enthusiastic and committed volunteers to support our Half Term Holiday Activity Scheme in Lozells.

We have a fantastic opportunity for volunteers to gain valuable experience working with children and young people while supporting positive activities within the local community.

We will provide children aged 5–16 with a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment where they can take part in a range of fun and engaging activities like arts and crafts,  sports, energiser games, including breakfast/lunch.

October half term

The Holiday Activity Scheme will run for 3 days during October Half Term from Mon 26 Oct – Wed 28 Oct 2026 from 9:30am – 12:30pm in Lozells, B19 2DR

Christmas Holiday 

The Holiday Activity Scheme will run for 3 days during December school holidays, Mon 21 - Wed 23 December 2026 from 9am – 12.45pm for primary aged kids and 1.15pm - 5pm for secondary aged kids.   The scheme will run from Lozells in B19 1QW and Small Heath B10 0LL

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of daily holiday activities for children and young people aged 5–16.
  • ·Assist with sports activities, arts and crafts, energiser games and other recreational activities.
  • ·Help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all participants.
  • Support the preparation and setting up of activities and equipment.
  • Assist with serving and distributing healthy breakfasts.
  •  Support staff in supervising children and ensuring appropriate safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Help maintain a clean, organised and safe activity environment.

Person Specification:

  • Must be available to volunteer for the dates and times the scheme is running.
  • Strong interest in working with children and young people.
  • Friendly, approachable and enthusiastic personality.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to engage children and young people in a positive and encouraging manner.
  • Enthusiasm for sports, arts, crafts, games or other recreational activities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment for children and young people.
