Rainbow Day Nursery has a placement opportunity for students working towards an Early Years qualification Level 3 or a degree.

Purpose of the Role:

To support the nursery team in providing a safe, caring, and stimulating environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive. As an Early Years Student, you will gain practical experience while working towards your qualification, under the guidance of experienced practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote children's learning and development.
  • Assist in creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Build positive relationships with children, encouraging their confidence, independence, and social development.
  • Observe children's progress and contribute to learning records under supervision.
  • Help with daily routines, including mealtimes, toileting, dressing, and rest periods, while promoting independence.
  • Ensure children's health, safety, and wellbeing at all times by following nursery policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with the nursery team to provide high-quality care and education.
  • Communicate professionally with colleagues, parents, and carers when appropriate.
  • Attend training sessions, team meetings, and supervision sessions to support professional development.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all nursery policies, procedures, and the EYFS framework.

Skills and Qualities:

  • A genuine passion for working with young children.
  • Caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and accept guidance.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child welfare.
