Help Harry Help Others-Big Spring Clean

To improve the grounds and wider site of Help Harry Help Others’ Drop‑In Cancer Support Centre, creating a safer, more welcoming and therapeutic environment for people affected by cancer and the wider local community. Investment will enable improvements such as enhanced accessibility, safe outdoor spaces, and calm, well‑maintained surroundings that better support wellbeing, reflection and social connection.

These improvements will have a significant positive impact on the local community. For people living with cancer, their families and carers, the site will offer a dignified, peaceful and inclusive space that supports emotional recovery alongside practical support. For the wider community, the enhanced grounds will strengthen a valued local asset, encourage greater engagement, reduce isolation and promote health, wellbeing and community cohesion. Ultimately, the project will ensure the centre remains a welcoming “home from home” for those who need support at some of the most challenging times in their lives.

we need volunteers to help support with the following tasks:

Fitting an outdoor tap

General grounds maintenance

Cleaning the guttering

Painting external walls

Gardening

Jet washing paths

Cleaning window PVCs and fascia's

Emptying and cleaning an on site container

building new decking

painting planters

planting seeds
