Hope at Home

About Hope at Home

Hope at Home is a registered charity, and we run the only hosting scheme specifically for survivors of modern slavery in the UK.

We train and support hosts across the UK who have a spare bedroom and the goodwill to welcome a survivor into their homes for a fixed period of time, and our hosts are couples, families and single people who care about the marginalised in society and want to see individuals find freedom.

We are currently looking for more hosts across Birmingham, due to the number of referrals we are dealing with – these are people who are recognised as survivors of modern slavery by the Home Office but who are often facing homelessness, are at high risk of re-exploitation and need a safe place to stay for anywhere between about 4 weeks and 6 months. Many survivors referred to us are also seeking asylum or have been granted refugee status.

All hosts receive full training on modern slavery awareness, equity, diversity and inclusion, safeguarding, processes and best practices and are provided with 1:1 support during the hosting process.
