Summary

We need volunteers to accompany our members on ad hoc group activities, such as theatre trips, visits to museums, concerts and festivals.

Detailed description

Alongside our regular monthly meetings, the Journey Group also organises smaller group activities, such as trips to the theatre, bike rides, dance classes, concerts, cinema trips, etc. These are invaluable for members, helping them make friends, connect with the world and take a much needed break from the pressures of their situation as LGBT+ asylum seekers.

However, for each activity, we need a volunteer to take responsibility for sharing the relevant information with members, managing the sign-up list, attending the activity, taking an attendance list and generally making sure that members are OK and having a good time. Take a look at the 'News' page on our website to get an idea of the range of activities we run.

These activities are usually one-offs and on an ad hoc basis. It would be entirely up to you what activities you took responsibility for, and how often. Most of these activities are for small groups of between 5 and 10 adults. We use Google Forms and WhatsApp to organise activities, so it would help if you are familiar with these, but we can also give you training if not.
