Summary

NICE (National Institute of Conductive Education) – Centre for Movement Disorders are seeking passionate individuals for fundraising and community events.

Detailed description

This summer, NICE is gearing up for a busy and exciting season of fundraising through a wide range of community and corporate events, including Wolf Runs, Golf Days, and local Fayres. These events are a vital part of our efforts to raise awareness and funds to support children and adults living with movement disorders, and we can’t do it without your help!

We are currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to support us at each of these events. As an events volunteer, you may be asked to assist with a variety of tasks, including setting up and packing down event equipment, welcoming and directing attendees, helping with registration or raffle sales, managing activity stalls, and generally being a friendly face representing NICE.

We expect our volunteers to represent the organisation professionally and positively, helping to create a warm and inclusive atmosphere for all attendees. Volunteering with NICE is a fantastic opportunity to give back to the community, gain event experience, meet new people, and make a real difference in the lives of the families we support.

If you're passionate about making a difference and enjoy being part of a team, we'd love to hear from you!

About NICE (National Institute of Conductive Education)

NICE is a small charity based in the heart of Birmingham, we specialise in helping children and adults with incurable movement disorders such as cerebral palsy, those recovering from a stroke and Parkinson’s, to push the boundaries of their own potential.
Movement is part of who we are. A lack, a loss or difficulty with movement affects every aspect of daily life. It can mean that people lose or are unable to gain independence in daily skills and this impact on their learning, confidence, and social skills.
NICE supports over 250 families annually ranging in ages from 1 year – 80+ years. For our children we run a full range of full and part time services including our free Milestone Club for 0–3-year-olds and their parent/carer, our free Red Boots Nursery for children aged 3-5 years and our Red Boots School which is a registered independent special school rated “Outstanding” by Ofsted in June 2023, a rating held since 2013.
Many of our adult beneficiaries have been diagnosed with a disability later in life, such as Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis & those recovering from a stroke. We support their rehabilitation needs through our NICE Road to Wellness programmes which improve their health & wellbeing, equipping them with the skills required to live as independently as possible.
To continue this life-changing work, we need to raise £500,000 annually. In order to do this work we rely on a handful of dedicated volunteers to support our fundraising events. This year we are busier than ever, raising essential funds to support children and adults with movement disorders. Can you volunteer your time to attend events in Birmingham and the West Midlands?
